See, smell, touch and taste the ingredients that go into making Speight's beers and discover how Speight's became a legendary name in the South Island of New Zealand.
Learn the history of beer making, the brewing process and how to make traditional wooden beer casks.
And of course no tour of Speight's brewery would be complete without sampling the product. So welcome to the brewery bar where you can pour your own and enjoy an appreciation session of six Speight's beers.
You can also visit the Speight's shop, which is open to the public. There's genuine Speight's beer gear - so you too can become part of the southern man legend.Transport from the cruise ship to this attraction is not included in the ticket cost, you will need to make your own arrangements.

Can children go on the Speights Brewery Tour?
Yes they can but we ask that they are kept under strict adult supervision. They are also unable to sample the beer.
Do I have to book to go on this tour?
Yes, definitely! We get quite busy, especially over summer.
What if I arrive late for my tour?
If the tour has departed you may lose your position
What days aren't you open?
We open every day except Christmas Day, Good Friday and Easter Sunday
Do you put on more tours if you are busy?
Yes, more tour departures may be available. Please ask
Can I wear open toed shoes on the tour?
No. You must wear covered in shoes for safety reasons. We do have some loan shoes available at the tour desk. Please ask
How old is the legal drinking age in NZ?

Can we buy a drink and meal after or before the tour?
Yes, most definitely. We have a great Ale House menu and selection of beverages, including beer.
How long does the tour take?
The tour including the tasting, takes 90 minutes.
Can you take my wheelchair on this tour?
Yes and No. You can see part of the tour and get to do the tastings, but there are 8 levels without an elevator, so you will not be able to see everything on the tour.
